History & Background of the Kedah Family Council

HIS HOLINESS SULTAN SALLEHUDDIN IBNI ALMARHUM SULTAN BADLISHAH

In early 1986, YTM Tunku Hamdy requested an audience with His Royal Highness the Tunku Sultan of Kedah to present his intention to establish the Kedah Royal Family Association.
After informing all of these wishes, His Royal Highness the Tunku Sultan agreed to these wishes with the hope that after the establishment of the association, the appointed committee will take care and maintain so that the Kedah Royal Family Association does not slip off the right track.
His Royal Highness the Tunku Sultan also agreed to be bestowed as the Patron of the Kedah Royal Family Association.

After that, these three names began their journey of taking steps to overcome all hardships and to do the work of finding members from house to house.
This is where many disagreements about the establishment of this Association occur.
Wealthy relatives rejected him for many unreasonable reasons.

For those who do this volunteer work, if they are not patient and persistent, they will definitely not want to continue.
Years passed until one day, in May 1996, a closed meeting was held at Istana Pelamin, Alor Setar to discuss major and important matters.

The Kedah Royal Family Association, led by YTM Tuan Hj Syed Idrus bin Syed Baharom as Chairman at that time, has decided to restructure the Council Board Members by taking into account responsibilities, efforts and positive actions to maintain the basic platform and the intention of the establishment.
The Kedah Royal Family Association has been given a new lease of life by changing the name of the Kedah Royal Family Association to the Kedah Royal Family Council, which was approved by the Kedah State Organization Registration Department.

The intention of the establishment has also been refined and with the new Supreme Council Member, it can make an impact and open a new chapter, to achieve the main intention of the Kedah Kinship Council, which is to empower the Ummah and help the Kedah Kinship Council Members as well as those who need services and support in a social and economic sense.
